FAQs
I received an invitation, what do I need to apply for a Seen Mastercard®?
First of all, welcome! We’re very excited you’re here. The application process is quick and easy. To get started, use the unique six-digit offer code enclosed in your email invitation to unlock the application. You’ll also need your full legal name, residential address, date of birth, SSN, and income to complete the application.
What does it mean when it says that I am pre-approved for a Seen Mastercard®?
Being pre-approved means that a soft inquiry on your credit report was pulled to see if you met the qualifying criteria. This did not affect your score.
Being pre-approved does not guarantee that you will be approved for credit. After you complete your application, we will place a hard inquiry on your credit report and determine whether you continue to meet our credit criteria.
I wasn’t invited! How do I apply for a Seen Mastercard®?
Right now, the Seen Mastercard® is offered by invitation only.
Will applying for a Seen Mastercard® require a hard credit check?
Yes, it will. If you submit an application for a Seen Mastercard® credit card, we will have to perform a hard inquiry on your credit report to determine your eligibility. This may affect your credit score.
Is Seen Mastercard® an unsecured credit card?
Seen Mastercard® is an unsecured card, also known as a traditional credit card. While you must connect an external U.S. bank account to make your credit card payments, Seen will neither ask you for a security deposit nor require you to open a checking account with us.
What fees are associated being a Seen Mastercard® cardholder?
Seen charges a $4.50 monthly fee with a competitive 32.99% annual percentage rate. To learn more, please read the Rate and Fee Information and the Cardmember Agreement.
Why should I get the Seen Mastercard®?
Good question. It can be tough to get approved for a credit card or loan with a low credit score or a limited credit history. Seen offers its unsecured credit card to individuals who want to improve their credit because we believe that everyone deserves a fair and affordable opportunity to strengthen their credit.
How do I use the Seen Mastercard® to build credit?
We could go on and on about credit building (and we will!) but for now, we’ll keep it simple. To build your credit, use your Seen Mastercard® wisely by keeping your balance low and making on-time payments each billing cycle. By sticking with Seen and staying consistent, your credit history lengthens and your payment history becomes stronger.
How long does it take for my Seen Mastercard® to arrive?
After your Seen Mastercard® application is approved, you can expect your card to arrive in the mail within 5 to 7 business days. Remember, you can start using your digital card the moment you’re approved. If it’s been over 14 business days since you applied (or requested a new card), please give us a call at 1-833-923-7336. Our Customer Care team is happy to look into it for you.
Do I need to have a debit account with Seen to use my Seen Mastercard®?
No, you don’t. Seen Mastercard® is an unsecured credit card that you can use without opening a debit account with us. However, in order to make payments, you will need to connect an active U.S. bank account to the card.
I have a Seen Mastercard® card and need support. How do I get in touch?
Our Customer Care team can be reached from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. EST from Monday to Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. EST on Saturday. Get in touch by giving us a call at 1-833-923-7336 or sending an email to help@seen.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
Does Seen report to all 3 credit bureaus?
Yes, we do. Seen will report on your Seen Mastercard® payment history to all 3 major credit bureaus every month - TransUnion®, Equifax®, and Experian®. Building credit may take time so it’s important that you consistently make on-time monthly payments.
Why should I care about improving my credit score?
You should care about building your credit because financial institutions look at a borrower’s credit history to determine their eligibility for a line of credit. This means that your credit score can impact your ability to get approved for personal loans, auto loans, traditional loans and other financial products. A lender may also offer you better credit card offers, higher credit limits, more favorable loan terms and lower interest rates when you have good credit.
How do I improve my credit score?
Building good credit takes time, and depends on variety of factors. The important factors that generally make up a credit score are your payment history (35%), your credit utilization (30%) your length of your credit history (15%), credit mix (10%) and new credit (10%). One way of improving bad credit is to prioritize your payment history by making consistent monthly payments by the due date to avoid late payments as much as possible.
